Free Rice game

Just in case you thought this morning's post was too serious, here's a game you can play - and whenever you get it right, 10 grains of rice will be distributed through the UN. It's paid for by the advertisers on the site, and the idea is to improve people's English as well as alleviate hunger. It's called Free Rice, and it's horribly addictive.

Thanks to Culinate.

I have had a try of that, you can get very hooked! I played it for about an hour before I told myself to stop!

Continue the good work Joanna.

Unfortunately, these kids don't need rice...they need something that actually has nutritional value. You can sit in front of your computer and pretend that you're helping someone, but you're really just giving them kwashiorkor.

Easy to hide behind an untraceable pseudonym and carp ... it's better than nothing, it's raised awareness of the World Food Programme .... I was in the Horn of Africa in the mid 1980s during the war/famine, so I know at first hand what starvation looks like.

Edmund Burke had it right: No-one made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could do only a little.
